The instillation of electric fencing
Meet The “A” Team
The Africa Electric TeamShaun Koen, the founder of AFRICA ELECTRIC FENCING AND AUTOMATION started in electric fencing in 1996. He started installing & maintaining electric fencing with his brother in Tanzania where they installed electric fencing around farms to keep the wild animals off it. He also installed security fences around the farm houses. In 1997 he returned to South Africa where he then started Africa Electric Fencing And Automation.
Africa Electric was established to fill a gap in the market for the installation of high quality electric fencing, garage/gate automation Gsm Communicators and much more. The drive has always been to strive for exceptional quality at competitive prices.
Since inception of Africa Electric they have successfully fitted hundreds of electric fences to many highly satisfied customers. They fit sliding and swing gate automation as well as the automation of garage door and striker locks on security gates. Apart from doing installation they also offer maintenance contracts and carry out repairs to existing fences and automation.
The CEO of Africa Electric Shaun Koen says “We at Africa Electric install only high quality products from high quality installers such as Stafix Electric Fence Products and Centurion Automation Products”.
VISIONTo be the preferred supplier of high grade installations with the following core principles:• Training and education on an ongoing basis• Continually improving our service and performance through individual and team initiative• Working in close co-operation, with a spirit of trust.
POLICYOur policy is “doing it right the first time”. This means fewer problems for the customer and ultimately less upkeep or additional expenses after the electric fence has been installed. A quality check is done after each successful instillation.

Regulations on new energizers
As far as the Govt Gazette of 25 March is concerned, what is of interest to us is a paragraph at the bottom of page 14: “The seller, importer and manufacturer of an electric fence energizer shall prove compliance with SANS 60335-2-76 by producing a certificate issued by an accredited test laboratory recognized by the accreditation authority”. It is no longer permissible for a manufacturer of an energiser just to state on the packaging that the unit has been manufactured to comply with the SANS standard! Manufacturers must be able to produce a certificate to PROVE this. Since 25 March it is illegal to install uncertified energizers. You will no doubt take heart and be proud of the fact that the entire JVA Z-Range of energizers are all certified and you may ask us for the certificates to show your clients should they ask for them. Many other energizer manufacturers are now scrambling to play “catch-up”.
WE ARE PROUD TO SAY THAT AFRICA ELECTRIC FENCING AND AUTOMATION ONLY INSTALL ENERGIZERS WITH THE INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE. THIS ENERGIZER IS THE JVA RANGE OF ENERGIZERS.
